For the first time ever, college enrollment has soared 20% for young Latino students, making them the largest minority group on four-year college campuses. That's according to a report from the Pew Hispanic Center.
And that trend is even more evident at Southern Oregon University, where S.O.U.'s Latino enrollment boom has outpaced even the national trends. But why is that the case? Some point to an innovative outreach program that grooms and empowers young Latinos to believe in the power of higher education. It's called Academia Latina. NBC5's Laura Cavanaugh explains.
