NBC 5 spoke with people who are a part of the Hispanic community to get their take on issues of race. These young Latinos say some of them have experienced discrimination while they've been in the valley. They say one of the biggest challenges for the Hispanic community is the language barrier. "there's the structural barriers, there's the personal challenges that the Hispanic community has in terms of trying to integrate into the community socially, civically, culturally, linguistically" Said student Sophia Soberson.
She and her peers pointed out that it's not just the Hispanic community dealing with race issues, it's every other minority as well.
