Lightning is the last thing fire fighters need right now, in the middle of a severe wildfire season.

Thursday's lightning is responsible for causing a number of fires in our region, at least 8 on Oregon Department of Forestry land, 4 in Jackson County, and another 4 in Josephine County.

There is some good news though. The difference between last months lightning caused fires, that started our regions wildfires and Thursday's is rain!

NBC 5's Kyle Aevermann tracked the storm's lightning sparked fires and filed this report.
