Some good news for the local real estate market.
A new report from the Rogue Valley Association of Realtors says Jackson County median home prices are continuing to climb as the demand for housing remains strong.
Experts say the news is not only good for the economy but also good for homeowners trying to sell thier home.
"We're coming out of 6 years of what's really been a buyers market. Buyers have had a lot of inventory to choose from, they could pick and choose what they wanted to get. And we've seen that shift dramatically in the past few months, so it's really turning to a sellers market," said Colin Mullane, Rogue Valley Association of Realtors.
Currently the median price of a home in Jackson County is just over $174,000.
That's an 11.6% increase from last year when the median price was $156,000.
