Local Woman Fights Off Attacker

Around 10:15 P.M. on Wednesday, Ashland Police responded to a possible sexual assault call off exit 14 near Ashland Street and Clover Lane.

Police tell us an adult female had been sitting on a bench when a male came up behind her. The woman fought the attacker, kicking him in the groin and scratching at his face. She eventually escaped, but so did the suspect fleeing down a nearby street.

Police describe the suspect as a heavy set male in his twenties with a dark complexion and goatee. During the incident he was described as wearing a black sweatshirt, white tee shirt, and a beanie cap with an emblem on it.
