Central Point, Ore. -- A five-year-old Central Point girl gave up her long hair to help other girls suffering from cancer.

It was a viral YouTube video that inspired Madi Nelson to cut off her hair and give it to another girl somewhere out there who's suffering from cancer.

The moving video is about a three-year-old girl who donated her hair. After watching the short video, the decision was easy for little Madi. Even after her parents questioned her for two days, she held her ground, committed to chopping off 11-inches of her hair to give to a sick child in need.

"They're going to make it a wig so she can have hair," said Madi.

Her decision, was a touching one for Madi's family.

"It was really special. Her dad and I are just really really proud of her," said Stefanie Nelson, Madi's mom.

It was a simple, but big call for such a little girl who had never cut her hair.

"She loved her hair," began Nelson.

"It was all the way down to the bottom of her back," she continued.

"I wanted to cut it," added Madi.

Nelson said they plan to mail off the hair tomorrow, possibly to organization Locks of Love.

According to Madi, this probably won't be the last time she donates her hair. She said she's planning to grow it out and cut it all over again.

The little girl featured in the viral video said her uncle was the best haircutter in the world.

When NBC 5 asked Madi if her haircut was the best in the world, she couldn't agree more.
