Mike's Copy and Printing owner Mike Laughman got quite the scare when he arrived at work Wednesday morning.
He says "a glass door was broken with a glass pile laying in front of it."
Mike's business is one of eight that were burglarized in Medford overnight. The suspect was targeting cash registers.
"We don't keep money here anyway and there's nothing much of value," says Laughman.
Medford Police Lt. Mike Budreau says they believe the same suspect or suspects hit all 8 Medford businesses.
Senior Sams, Mike's Copy and Printing, Instaprint, Rapid Ink, Structures Hair Salon, Weldon's Cleaner, Extreme Juice, and Jackson Creek Pizza were all burglarized.
Lt. Budreau believes there is a reason these businesses were hit.
He says "you could do just a quick recon of a business, I wouldn't be surprised if this individual did that. He knew that there were no cameras at these businesses, that's why he hit them, that's why they were targeted."
All of the businesses were damaged, and in Mike's case like many others, the damage to his store is worse than the amount stolen.
Mike says "it'll be a three or four hundred dollar bill to fix the door all for five dollars of coins.
Because there wasn't surveillance at any of the businesses, Medford Police are relying on the public for help. If you saw anything suspicious you are asked to call them.
