Tonight police say two people are behind bars for allegedly fighting with officers and trying to steal a police car.

Medford police say they pulled over 27-year-old Chad Ray Paxton and tried to arrest him for driving under the influence around two Saturday morning. According to authorities, he put up a fight, forcing police to use a taser on him, but he broke free and ran away.

Meantime officials say while they chased Paxton, his passenger, 36-year-old Shilo Chrystine Schalk tried to steal a patrol car but a civilian ride-along prevented it.

Paxton and Schalk are in the Jackson County Jail.
