One Medford man is behind bars, after police say he shot and killed his dog, in front of his neighbors.
Medford police arrested Terry Nixon around 9 Wednesday night.
Officers responded to the 400 block of Ross lane, following reports of a dog being shot, and confronted the man.
Officials say Nixon was uncooperative.
A search warrant for the house was obtained, and officials found the dog who had been killed.
Nixon is in the Jackson County Jail on numerous charges, including aggravated animal abuse, and unlawful use of a weapon.
His bail is set at $17,000.
