Controversy is surrounding Tuesday night's Medford school budget meeting, following a suggestion of dipping into the district's reserve.

During the district's first budget committee meeting of the year last night, superintendent Phil Long made the suggestion of using part of the district's 10 million dollar reserve, to give the board time to determine how to cut down expenses in the long run.

The budget committee will have the next two weeks to come to a decision before the next meeting, scheduled for 6 pm on April 23.
