Coos County search and rescue members are looking for a North Bend man who has been missing since February second.

59 year old Wyman Weathersby,  was last seen leaving home in his green 1997 Acura Integra to “go for a walk on the beach.”

A sheriff’s deputy found Weathersby’s car at about 2 a.m.
Wednesday at the BLM/Weyerhaeuser overlook on the north spit.

Deputies briefly searched the area before calling in the search-and-rescue team about 5 a.m.

The search involved 16 people from Coos County search and rescue, the county’s marine and dune patrol, BLM and forest service law enforcement, and a
U.S. coast guard helicopter.

It was called off about 6 tonight.
but will begin again at first light Thursday.

He is also an insulin-dependent diabetic and did not take his medication with him.
