Josephine County continues to see high numbers of residential burglaries.
A rash of residential burglaries have swept through parts of North Valley, and Merlin over the past few months. The Josephine County Sheriff's Office doesn't suspect the three reported break-ins over the weekend to be connected to the previous thirty. So far, there have 155 reported burglaries this year, a concerning number for some residents who live here. That number compared to last years total of 345. While the county faces a budget crisis, taxpayers will have the first say as to whether or not they want to pay more in property taxes to support the sheriff. While deputies warn of the thefts they say it's a good idea to record all of you belongings especially your valuables.
