Mt. Ashland will not open this season

Ashland, Ore. --  Mt. Ashland will not open for the 2013-14 ski season due to low snow levels.

“At some point we had to face the fact that the weather was not going to cooperate,” explained Kim Clark the ski area’s General Manager. This is the first time in it's 50 year history that the mountain will not open for the ski and snowboarding season.

As of Thursday, March 13, the ski area had less than a foot of snow at the lower elevations, not nearly enough to open the ski slopes.

Mt. Ashland is offering two options for season pass holders:

Option #1 - The Tax Deduction Option: Pass holders may return their 2013-14 season pass and receive a tax deductible donation for the 2014 tax year. A donation letter will be provided to those requests made prior to April 30, 2014.

Option #2 – The Discounted Pass Option: Guests who purchased a 2013-14 season pass and opt not to request a tax-deduction, may purchase a pass next year at a 50% discount. Next year’s season pass prices will be announced later with dates of any sale periods.

Pass holders are asked to call Mt. Ashland at 541-482-2897 or send an email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.  after April 1st to choose one of the options.to
