Today marks the one year anniversary of the Occupy Ashland movement.
Protesters planned a rally -- which took place this evening at five in the Ashland Plaza.
Organizers say they expected nearly 50 people to attend. It's focused on reconnecting protesters with the movement.
"To remind people of the energy and excitement that was generated a year ago with the Occupy movement nationally, and to remind people in the community that there are people trying to make social change happen."
Many Occupiers across the nation blame what they call 'corporate greed' for the economic downturn. Occupy Ashland organizers say last year's movement inspired new issue-driven campaigns to form and helped organize groups.
