Officials Investigate Weekend Homicide

A Rogue Valley man is behind bars, after police say he inflicted severe injuries to another man, leading to death.

Police were called to a report of an assault at an apartment complex, just before 1 pm on Sunday afternoon.

Paramedics found 54 year-old Donald William Mack with head injuries.

Mack was taken to Rogue Valley Medical Center, where he later died.

Detectives found the suspect, 29 year old Travis Donald Asbill about 8 hours later in an Eagle Point home.

He was arrested without incident.

Asbill is currently on parole for attempted murder.

Officials say he will be lodged for one count of murder, with bail set at $1 million.
