Two men Walked around Portland, Oregon with Ar-15's and handguns in plain view ( legal) which alarmed people on the streets. The 'demonstration' lead to more than a dozen emergency calls to police. One of the men is from Southern Oregon and police here say the act of openly carrying a long rifle is irresponsible.

Warren Drouin walks around with his AR-15 tactical rifle because he can regardless of how it makes the public feel not knowing him or why he's doing it.

That concerns police because they have to respond to the calls and when they do, they're not sure either what the gun toting activists' intentions are. Police in Medford however do know Drouin and believe his intention is to show off his gun. Drouin claims it's to educate people about the second amendment right but according to his Youtube account (Marked Guardian) he's seen capturing video of police who stop him, rarely anyone in public.

Online forums such as Opencarry.org ban people from even discussing the topic of openly carrying a rifle. There is some discussion though which has people on both sides of the issue.

here's a copy of that websites rule:

Rule (14) LONG GUN CARRY IS OFF-TOPIC: This web site is focused on the right to openly carry properly holstered handguns in daily American life. We do NOT promote the carry of long guns. Long guns are great! OCDO co-founders John & Mike and most of the members of this forum own at least one long gun - but due to urban area issues of muzzle control, lack of trigger guard coverage, and the fact that the long gun carry issue distracts from our main mission to promote the open carry of handguns in daily life, we will leave long gun carry activism in the capable hands of the future founders of web sites about long gun carry. Exception: This rule does NOT apply to discussions about long gun carry in jurisdictions such as California which ban handgun carry and thus require long gun carry as a matter of public policy.
