Healthcare in our area is undergoing some pretty dramatic changes.
In Oregon on Wednesday, coordinated care organizations, or CCO's will officially launch.Their purpose is to take better care of low income patients on the Oregon health plan and to allow doctors to coordinate with each other. But what will it mean for people in the Rogue Valley?
"They won't see a big change on August 1st, but they'll start seeing some changes as the months roll on as their care really becomes coordinated. If they've got a mental health issue, that info will be shared with their primary care physician," said Sen. Alan Bates.
Senator Bates says the next wave of CCO's to launch will be in September.
