Nearly 100 percent of Oregon home-care workers have voted to approve a new union contract with the state.

The new contract includes over 7,000 caregivers who work with people with mental health and development disabilities for the first time.

The contract will now cover more than 18,000 home-care workers.

Bargaining between the state and union is set to begin within the next 6 months.
