Lawmakers are considering a bill that would open up school  boundaries, and allow students to transfer between districts.

In the proposal, students would be able to apply for transfers outside their districts in a one month sign-up window.

The student would have to be approved by their home district to leave.

New reports reveal students take around $6,000 in local funding with them when they transfer between districts.
