Medford, Ore. -- Supporters of an effort to recall four Medford School Board members get the go ahead to gather signatures.

The Jackson County Clerk approved circulation of the petition Tuesday.

Medford resident Blake Weller is behind the push. He's looking to recall Sally Killen, Jeff Thomas, Marlene Yesquen, and Kim Wallan, saying they are failing to comply with the school board's mission and goals relating to the strike. "The school board has acted illegally, immorally, and dishonorably with their dealings with the public and the teachers. We don't feel like that kind of behavior should be rewarded with continued service" said Weller.

Weller says his wife is a teacher, but those organizing this effort are all community members.

4,521 signatures are needed for each board member to qualify a recall election.

Those signatures due by May 12th.
