Police search for suspect after high speed pursuit

Update (6/11 1:00pm): Oregon State Police is asking for the public's help to locate the male suspect who fled a stolen vehicle Tuesday night near Interstate 5 in the south Medford area. The suspect is identified as Joshua Trevon Munoz, age 19, from Lake Stevens, Washington.

Munoz is described as a black male, 5'11", 153 pounds, black hair, and brown eyes. He has an outstanding warrant for Fail to Appear - Dangerous Drugs that can only be served in Washington State. Oregon State Police has probable cause of his arrest in Oregon. 

Medford, Ore. -- Officers are searching for a suspect who fled from a stolen vehicle, following a high speed pursuit along Interstate 5  between Phoenix and Medford.

Oregon State Police say one of their officers attempted to stop a 2004 Acura on I5 near Phoenix Tuesday night. According to police, the driver sped off leading to a high speed chase.

The driver eventually stopped the car and fled on foot, abandoning the stolen car near E. Barnett Road and I5.

An 18-year-old female was detained by officers.

The driver was tentatively identified as a 19-year old male out of Washington; his name is not released at this time.

He's described as a white male, in his late teens, and wearing a white shirt.

Police are asking anyone with information to call (541) 664-4600 or 911.
