First victim in Rogue River double homicide positively identified

Jackson County Sheriff Department officials say they have been able to positively identify the first of 2 victims in the Rogue River double homicide as Robert Haney through fingerprinting. Haney is believed to have been murdered by Susan Monica around September 9th of 2013.

According to Jackson County Sheriff Detective Julie Denney, Haney was believed to be living on Susan Monica's property when the murder occurred in September 2013. Haney's family filed a missing persons report on January 1, 2014.

The Jackson County District Attorney's Office announced today that the Grand Jury had returned a five-count Indictment charging Monica with: Count 1 - Murder of another human being committed on or about August 1, 2012; Count 2 - Murder of another human being committed on or about September 9, 2013; Count 3 - Abuse of a Corpse in the First Degree by mutilating or dismembering a corpse, committed on or about August 1,2012; Count 4 - Abuse of a Corpse in the First Degree by mutilating or dismembering a corpse, committed on or about September 9, 2013; and, Count 5 - Identity Theft by unlawfully possessing, with the intent to deceive or defraud, the personal identification of Robert Haney committed on or about September 9, 2013.
