Search and rescue crews have suspended their search for a man who fell into the Rogue River around 5:30pm Thursday. His body is thought to be trapped underwater somewhere near Union Creek in Prospect.

Nearly 24 hours later rescue crews have ended their search. 21 year old Pablo Murillo, of Mexico, was visiting with family. After a trip to Crater Lake, a group of about eight stopped to see the fast moving river near Beckie's Cafe in Union Creek around Prospect. Police say the man went past a barrier and fell into the Rogue River. A search effort spanning 10 miles down river lasted day and night. On Friday morning, search and rescue continued with crews from Jackson, Douglas and Klamath counties. By 5pm Friday the search ended. The missing man is thought to still be underwater between the natural bridge and Beckie's Cafe. Officials say water levels are high and cold this time of the year and warn recreationists to stay behind barrier walls at recreation sites.
