Drivers in Southern Oregon hoping to head out of town early for the holidays should be prepared for some dicey road conditions.
A severe winter storm  is blanketing the region, causing slick roads and  limited visibility.  Numerous crashes between Hugo and Canyonville shut down the Sexton Summit earlier today.   In fact, at the chain-up area near Exit 11 on Interstate 5, Oregon Department of Transportation is turning away vehicles unless they have chains, four wheel drive and snow tires.  That's because the conditions atop the Siskiyou Summit is reportedly treacherous.  But  that's not the only area hit hard by this severe winter storm.  NBC5's Laura Cavanaugh has all the details.
