Shenanigan's is up for sale and could close following a notice by the Oregon Liquor Control Commission who say there are too many serious or persistent problems.
The once popular and massive four bar complex that makes up Shenanigan's is up for sale. Because the number of violations by city police and the Oregon Liquor Control Commission, owner, Bruce Brown has decided it's time to turn the page. Among the violations, DUII's rank high on the list, followed by public drunkenness, public urination, noise complaints, fighting and other illegal acts. While the business raked-in more than two million in the past two years, middle ground just cant be found between the bar and increasing restrictions by the OLCC. Two of the four bars have been split and will be sold separately while the original Irish Pub will include the patio area and the dance club area. The original Shenanigan's Irish Pub is said to be open so long as the liquor license is approved.
