Medford police are currently on scene, investigating a fatal stabbing.

Around 8:30 last night, officers were dispatched to a reported fight at an apartment complex in the 1900 block of Table Rock Road. Police say the victim is 38-year old Maria Rodriguez was stabbed to death.

We spoke to Lt. Mike Budreau of Medford PD,

"She was assaulted by an unknown male, outside of her apartment, and she was stabbed. There was another apartment that saw the commotion, they opened their doors, she went in there, and that's ultimately where she died."

We're told next of kin has been notified.

We spoke with Ryan Hurst, a witnesses on scene who told us that they heard a woman and a man screaming.

"it was a female screaming at like the top of her lungs and then after that happened there was a male yelling help help right as the female officer was walking around."

Monday morning, law enforcement from both the Medford Police Department and the Jackson County Sheriff's office are looking for the suspect.

He is described as a Hispanic male in his mid thirties, 5-foot-7 and weighing 180 pounds.  He was last seen wearing a blue or turquoise shirt.
