, Written by Kyle Aevermann, Posted: Mon, May 20 2013 at 5:32 PM, Updated: Mon, May 20 2013 at 10:39 PM

Police say the man who stole a vehicle over the weekend with 2 children inside is behind bars tonight.

The incident started Saturday when 33 year old Justin Cobb rode his bike up to a 7-11 in Grants Pass, he jumped into a running Ford Explorer with two children inside and took off.

He drove about a mile before abandoning the children near the American Medical Response building.

Police received several calls minutes later regarded a reckless driver near Upper River Road.

But authorities were unable to find anything, at least until Monday morning when another call of reckless driver came in near Garnet Lane.

Cobb has now been charged with two counts of kidnapping in the second degree, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and a felon in possession of a firearm.

Cobb remains behind bars at the Josephine County Jail on $50,000 bail.

The vehicle has since been returned to the owner.
