People from around the Rogue Valley are invited to tantalize their taste buds while supporting gifted Latino students this weekend.

The Southern Oregon Latino Scholarship Fund will be holding a very unique fundraiser called Tacos for Scholarships at Medford's Southern Oregon Brewing Company on Saturday at 6pm.

People are invited to bring their wallets and their appetites for authentic Mexican food, compliments of La Tapatia, as well as
hand-crafted local beer.  There will be live entertainment and they will be airing the Ducks game.   All proceeds will go toward the scholarship fund to help empower young Latino students and help them achieve their dreams of pursuing a college degree.

People like Jose Bugarin, a recipient of the scholarship in 1995, who went on to get his Masters degree  in business.  His staff at La Tapatia will be hard at work Saturday morning preparing fresh ingredients to be donated for the fundraiser.

Many past recipients have gone on to become pediatricians, nurses, attorneys and counselors in our community.  Iin all, since 2003, the Southern Oregon Latino Scholarship Fund has awarded $349,000 to 108 Latino students pursuing higher education.
