The Central Point School District is investigating allegations of misconduct between a teacher and at least one student.

Central Point Police are investigating a teacher at Crater High School, referred to them by the school district. the superintendent confirms but isn't able to release much information.

"We have the teacher on leave for her protection and the boy's protection related to the allegations but that's it."

Students at the school tell NBC 5 News that a female science teacher had an affair with a senior student.

"that should not happen, flirting or anything. we're supposed to respect them and look up to them and this is just wrong."

Kids on campus say if it's true, the incident should have never happened.

" i think it's pretty sick that a teacher would have sex with students."

The superintendent would not name anyone or confirm if the investigation surrounds sexual impropriety but says the teacher is on leave. while they investigate, he says dating students is forbidden.

"Obviously you want teachers to be professional. they're in a mentor role an you want them to have the trust of kids and you don't want to violate that so that's why we do a very good job with the investigation."

If the claims of having sex with a student are true. this is not the districts first brush with such issues. A school resource officer was fired after officials confirmed he had sex with a former crater student, last year. The school district is taking this case very seriously because, if the allegations are not true you can imagine what this could do to someone's personal life.
