Gold Hill, Ore. -- 50 year-old Rex Stansell from Eagle Point and 35 year-old Melissa Crandell from Central Point were arrested for burglary on Thursday. The Jackson County Sheriff's Office responded to a burglary in progress in the 600 block of N. 6th Avenue in Gold Hill. 

Witnesses told deputies the man and woman had fled the home and pointed to the direction of travel. Deputies were able to catch up to the suspects thanks to tips from neighbors in the area.

Items taken from the house were recovered and included collectible items. Officials said Stansell is charged with Burglary 1, Criminal Trespass, Possession of Burglar's Tools and Carrying a Concealed Weapon. Crandell is charged with Burglary 1, Criminal Trespass 1, Criminal Trespass 2, and Theft 3.
