Two men are behind bars, following an early Monday morning police pursuit on I-5.

Just after 3 A.M., Central Point police attempted to make a traffic stop.

The car continued on, and Central Point Officers alerted the Sheriff's department who saw the car run a stop sign.

Sheriff's deputies engaged in a pursuit on Table Rock road, where a spike strip took one of the car's tires.

The chase continued on I-5, Northbound.

The car left the freeway at exit 45A, losing control and spinning into a ditch.

The passenger, Blake Wallace, was immediately taken into custody.

The driver, Rodney Gourneau took off on foot, and was later apprehended by a K-9 unit.

Gourneau had a warrant out for failing to appear in court on a theft charge.

He is facing several new charges, including reckless driving, unauthorized use motor vehicle, and theft in the first degree.
