An intersection in Medford is closed for more than an hour after police say two men crossing a street were hit by a car.

Witnesses say two men in thier 20's or 30's were walking back home from the convenience store on Prune and Columbus when a car traveling northbound on Columbus hit them just after 8 Saturday night.

Injuries of the pair is not known at this time - but police say they both suffered significant injuries.

Medford Police say the intersection is marked with signage for pedestrians - but is still an accident prone area.

"It's not an intersection we get the majority of accidents at but it is an intersection known for traffic accidents and collisions," said Sgt. Don Lane of the Medford Police Department.

Police said that the driver of the car was cooperating with them.
