Two suspicious fires break out in Medford

Medford, Ore. -- Two suspicious fires broke out early Friday morning. The calls came in just 20 minutes apart.

The first call was at about 2:50 a.m. A small fire broke out in a shed-like structure near the 300 block of East Jackson Street, (behind Le Pari's Sports and Fitness Gym). Medford fire arrived on scene and quickly put the fire out.   

At about 3:15 a.m., Medford Fire responded to another fire about a half mile away, behind the Safeway near East Jackson Street. It was a small brush and debris fire; it was also put out quickly.

No structures near either fires were in danger. Medford police say that the cause for both fires is under investigation.
