UPDATE: New Details in Medford Suspicious Person Case

10:30A.M. --- FRESH UPDATE FROM MEDFORD POLICE:

Medford Police are attempting to identify and locate a suspect who punched a Medford Police Officer early this morning and took off on foot.

On July 6th, 2012 at about 2:00 a.m. Medford Police responded to an address near 11th and Hamilton for a suspicious male seen in the resident’s backyard, possibly attempting to break into the home.

Upon the Officer’s arrival, the suspect was gone.

At about 3:18 a.m. another caller reported a suspicious male on a bicycle near 11th and Hamilton. The caller advised the male was not wearing ashirt and bleeding from his arm.

The description matched the previous case.

A Medford Police Officer arrived and saw the male riding his bicycle in the area.

As the Officer approached, the male hid in a carport of a residence in the 1100 Block of W. 11th Street. The Officer approached the suspect on foot and after a brief conversation the suspect punched the Officer in the face, knocking him to the ground.

The suspect then fled on foot after dropping some property, to include a knife.

The Officer was able to give chase to the suspect but eventually lost him.

Additional units responded but could not locate the suspect. He was lastseen going over fences in the 1100 block of W. 12th Street.

The suspect is described as:

White male adult

Short dark hair
