Crews continue to battle the Oak fire in Fort Jones, California Friday morning, just southwest of Yreka.

Officials say the fire is 30 percent contained. Fire crews received a  call about the wildfire just before 3 PM yesterday.

Officials say the fire has burned 270 acres, and still threatens about 8 nearby homes.

Reports say the fire was caused by an escaped debris burn.

This morning, residents in the area are being informed to keep their windows closed, because of the poor air quality.
