Wednesday Senator Jeff Merkley discussed his new bill to reform the H-2B visa system.

Oregon Lawmakers will reform foreign visa laws following a year long investigation into an exploited system. Four Oregon Companies used taxpayer money, $7 million dollars of stimulus, for jobs creation but didn't hire Oregon workers. Instead, hired foreigners. As unemployment neared 15 percent in some ares, these foreign workers were being paid to work on forest-thinning in Central Oregon. While contractors are required to post the to the public, they did so out of state in small towns. Now Oregon Lawmakers say the system needs to change.
