A fire in Lake County has a number of families on high alert.
The Barry Point Fire was sparked by lightning Monday about 22 miles southwest of Lakeview.
The fire has burned more than 1,700 acres in the Freemont National Forest.
This morning the Oregon Red Cross is on alert to provide shelter for evacuees from the fire.
As of Friday morning, the Lake County Fire Chief has issued a voluntary evacuation for 15 families in the area.
He is also reminding the general public to be extremely careful as fires can easily start in the hot and dry weather conditions.
