Woman Accused of Causing Riverside Ave Crash Now Charged With DUII

The woman accused of running a red light and causing a multi-car crash is now being charged with a D.U.I.I.

The new charge is being added to four counts of second-degree manslaughter, among others.

Medford police say 34-year old Leta Shroeder was driving a truck westbound on Crater Lake Highway into the Riverside Avenue intersection last week, when she t-boned a van filled with 7 department of forestry workers headed to work.

Shroeder originally fled the scene, but police later took her into custody.

The crash killed one man and seriously injured more. A pre-trial conference will be scheduled within the next few weeks.

Schroeder remains in the Jackson County jail on $3 million bail.
