Gold Beach, Ore. -- As summer recreation gets underway authorities are reminding everyone that the local waterways can be a dangerous place to play.
According to the Curry County Sheriff's Department 38-year-old Cherie Jarnigan was playing with her children at Huntley Park on the Rogue River.
She reportedly went in the water to retrieve a frisbee and fell in over her head.
At least two witnesses attempted to save Janrigan but were unsuccessful. She was later reported deceased. The Curry County Sheriff's Department says they've already had two incidents and want to remind everyone to enjoy the outdoors safely.
