A Central Point woman faces 3.8 years in prison and $323,000 in restitution following today's guilty plea and sentencing.

"I am truly sorry for the accident that happened, the loss of life," Leta Schroder said before she pled guilty to charges.

Even though she was sentenced to nearly four years in prison, 35 year-old Leta Jean Schroeder could be out of jail in a year if she completes the early release programs defined by the state.

Originally, Schroeder was charged with Manslaughter and DUII following a crash at the intersection of Highway 99 and Highway 62. In that crash one man died, three others were ejected. Today one of the seven men inside suffers from brain damage and another man with physical injuries.

Prosecutors say Schroder fled the scene of the crash, and wasn't located until 16 hours later at a friends home in White City. Because of the time lapse, trying to prove she was under the influence would be difficult. The original charges of manslaughter and DUII were reduced to criminal negligence and four counts of failing to perform the duties of a driver. Schroder, will loose her license for about ten years and is set to pay more than three hundred thousand dollars, and amount that was challenged by her attorney.
