Two years in the making, a group of friends have been working and planning to break a world record for the longest time spent playing wiffle ball.

Their attempt started this morning around 10:30 at the Harry and David Fields in Medford.

They'll be playing wiffle ball until tomorrow at noon, if they can last 26 hours, they will be the new record holders.

"We are raising money for the Parks and Rec and we wanted to have a Guiness world record and we like having fun."

Insurance Lounge is sponsoring the event. So far they have raised five thousand dollars for Medford Parks and Recreation.
