Thanks to nearly half a million dollars in donations, the Medford Rogue Valley YMCA is making some improvements
The fundraising started with a 100 thousand dollar donation from the Olsrud family, owners of Sherm's Food 4 Less, for a renovation to the gym
Naumes Family Foundation matched the donation...and along with 53 other donors...390 thousand dollars were raised.
So far, the leaking ceiling has been repaired, new sound panels and speakers have been installed in the multipurpose room, the entire entrance to the YMCA has been remodeled, and the aquatic center has been repainted and its pumps improved. The centerpiece of the project, the gym, has also been revamped and will be revealed later this month.
