Upper Northern California will be one school short next year.

This week, the Yreka Union School District board voted to close Gold Street School. Officials say the move will save the district over 300-thousand dollars per year.

The district has been considering the school closure since February, after a predicted 360-thousand dollar revenue shortfall.

The school is set to close this June.
