UPDATE: Missing cabin in Klamath County has been found

Update (4:55pm 2/26/2015): Klamath Falls, Ore. — The Klamath County Sheriffs Office says the stolen home has been found but it’s still unclear just who owns it.

The log cabin was moved about a half a mile across a field just outside Chiloquin last summer.

Neighbors on Nine Mile Road in Klamath County were surprised to hear on the news that the home was ‘missing.’ One of them said “I just remembered the house from the photo – ‘It’s like, I know that place!” (laughs) “It’s been next door to me for almost a year.”

Sheriff Frank Skrah said “This is a situation where 3 parties are claiming ownership, one of the 3 parties sold it to a fourth party.”

No charges have been filed, and investigators are still trying to piece together just who owns the cabin.

The cabin was purchased and moved sometime last summer for $3,000.

Original story: A house is missing and deputies with the Klamath County sheriff’s office are looking for it!

Sheriff Frank Skrah made the announcement during a press conference around noon on Tuesday, February 24th,”We had a complete home stolen. This isn’t a motor home, this isn’t a mobile home and this is a ‘home.'”

When asked if the home was already on wheels Skrah responded, “No, it was not, it was on the foundation you see it on now.”

The 1,200 square foot home from the Sprague River area was reported missing on Tuesday.

The home was not occupied, and the absentee homeowner has been notified.

Those with any information are asked to contact the Klamath County Sheriff’s Office.
