Missing mushroom hunter found dead west of La Pine

Klamath County, Ore. – Police said a mushroom hunter who was reported missing has been found deceased in a rural area around Davis Lake, near the Klamath and Deschutes County border.

Officers said the 68-year-old man from Prairie City, Oregon was reported missing by his hunting partner on Saturday after he didn’t return to camp.

The hunter was found dead around 1:00 Monday afternoon. The name of the hunter has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

Police said the investigation is ongoing. An Oregon State Police medical examiner has been called to determine the cause of death.
