People around the world will mark the 50th anniversary of the death of President John F. Kennedy on Friday.
Dealey Plaza in Dallas, Texas will be the center of several memorial events, including the unveiling of a new monument marking the event on the famous "grassy knoll".
Commemorative events will also take place in Boston, where the J-F-K Library and Museum will open a small new exhibit of items from Kennedy's state funeral.
In the capital, President Obama will meet with members of the Peace Corps Program, which was first established by President Kennedy.
In Oregon, flags will be lowered to half-staff on Friday. A moment of silence will also be held at 10:28 A.M. PT.
