Arrest made in Red Rock stabbing

Update: Grants Pass Department of Public Safety has told NBC5 that 25-year-old stabbing victim Michael McCoy has died.


Grants Pass, Ore. -- Grants Pass Department of Public Safety have arrested 39-year-old Britt Jason Bones and charged him with Assault in the First Degree for his role in a stabbing at Red Rock Lounge on Saturday.

25-year-old victim Michael McCoy sustained a stab wound to the head and is currently in critical condition at OHSU-Portland.

Bones, a Selma resident, is charged with the following:

    • Unlawful Use of a Weapon
    • Felony Warrant for Laundering a Monetary Instrument - Jackson Co.
    • Felony Warrant for Attempt to Deliver Controlled Substance-Nebraska
    • FTA Warrant for DUII, Reckless Driving, Criminal Mischief-Josephine Co.

Bones is lodged at the Josephine County Jail.
