A team of government scientists are in Alaska surveying beaches for debris from last years tsunami in Japan.
Alaska has reportedly seen a difference in the amount of debris than what has been washing up ashore in the northwest.
Officials want to get an overall feeling of what actually is arriving.
They also hope to to help come up with a clean up plan.
More survey's along the coast are planned for later this summer .
