Sunday kicked off 'National Crime Victim's Rights' week.
It's designed to promote victims’ rights and to support crime victims.
In 1984 congress passed the "Victims of Crime Act", which created a national fund to ease suffering.
Today, all 50 states have enacted victims’ rights laws and have victim compensation programs with more than 10-thousand victim service agencies throughout the country.
More than 3-thousand people in Jackson County receive services in all types of cases each year.
