Harlan County, Ky. -- (WLEX) A Kentucky man is accused of forcing his wheelchair-bound mother to stay outside in sub-freezing temperatures.
The woman was found in a tent in the Possum Hollow area of Harlan County.
Deputies said Brandon Buell left her there overnight, with her wheelchair nowhere near her.
"I got no idea how he got her from here to there," Special Deputy John Gross of Harlan County Sheriff's Office said.
Gross was off duty and going on his morning walk Monday when he spotted a tent he hadn't seen before.
"I never heard a woman in my life cry like that," Gross said. She had only a long sleeve shirt, a pair of jogging pants and one blanket laying on the floor.
The woman had early stages of hypothermia when found.
Buell was arrested and charged with wanton endangerment and endangering the welfare of an incompetent person.
